Long. This book is long. The author even apologizes for it. In this case it was so much fun that I think it's a case of the longer the better. This is entertaining as all get-out. The one flaw that bothers me is not uncommon to Ms. Koch's work: fight scenes are often so drawn-out and wordy that any sense of sequence or order of events becomes muddled. Some events take so long that any rational sense of timing totally goes out the window.

Still, this is just good dumb fun and really advances the events and plot. I thoroughly enjoyed most of this. Now, if Ms. Koch or a fan would only make a guide to the ridiculously complex cast of characters, their origins and interrelations, and a list of all the Operations, life would be a lot easier for her readers.

Camp Alien Alien Novels Gini Koch Books Reviews

These novels just continue to get better with each one. The first half was a bit slow, but I enjoyed it because Kitty and Jeff actually got to spend some time together. The second half flew by and it was extremely hard to put down. I loved all the twists and turns this book took. You never know what to expect when reading this series.
Note this book can not be read as a standalone
As usual, Gini knocks it out of the park with the latest Alien novel. My 'inner hyena' is usually guffawing all the way through.
Her writing style is easy and conversational, without being immature or condescending. And that is harder to do than you might think. Kitty is warm and funny and you want to be her BFF, except Amy is already there. Definitely.worth the read, you'll want to collect the whole set of Team Alien.
This series gets better and better. It is more complex than when it began. Each book is an exciting read; it helps with all the people to have read the rest of the books.

This one has Kitty getting in and out of trouble; rescuing friends and enemies and beating up robots!

Very entertaining.
Camp Alien is an adventure that let's us see a lot of growth in the Kitty-verse. Seriously, Gini continually delivers drama, humor, pop-culture, and dynamic relationships. I particularly loved the setting (As a teen, I sashayed past Camp David on the way to Lake Cunningham from camp, hoping to catch the attention of a hot Navy dude). The themes of family and 'doing the right thing' is deftly woven through out this latest installment of Gini Koch's Alien series.
Kitty does it again! As the "Going with the crazy" founder Kitty finds herself overwhelmed with the new FLOTUS position. Besides sounding like a snappy seaweed sidekick in a new spin off of Finding Nemo FLOTUS (First Lady Of The United States) Kitty finds the job something to be endured with great sighs and witty commentary. The adventure she find herself in with all her family and friends as the beginning of the Presidency is crazy and hilarious. My favorite part is the Sovereign Flying Nation of Kitty Land, drooling Poofies and the many exciting character developments, especially Lizzy. As an adoptive parent I find Lizzy to be a great addition to the extended family in general and the acceptance by Kitty and Jeff in particular is heartwarming. Love this series!
Gini Koch is good at bringing us up to speed--not easy with all the accumulating characters, and it slows it down a bit at the beginning. 'Course we've lost characters too; And I've lost track of all the Operations (previous books). She did a good job of filling Cabinet posts, etc. after so many government officials were lost, and then moving on; and then the story kicks into high gear and we're off. I love the characters, although I'd like to see more of the Poofs, but I'm happy to see more of Algar. There's fun and excitement and danger and suspense and repartee. And frankly, I'm impressed by the songs and bands she inserts along the way as usual, even though I'm pretty ignorant in that field.. (No spoilers or I'd mention more of all the characters and scenes I loved.)

5 out of 5 gnomes

This series continues along awesomely. I love that it picked up from that cliffhanger and now is all about all the new craziness and worry of Presidential concerns. Seeing all these new political positions and how everything works out is intense and I can only imagine what future books will bring.

It's extra fun because of all the political madness going on in the real world right now. Let's just say President Martini sounds a whole lot better than certain candidates that are now running...

Koch is queen of the cliffhanger chapter endings so you'll be saying oh just one more chapter a bunch while reading. I won't even tell you how many times I was close to late to work because I didn't want to put the book down. These books just latch on to you and don't let go.

The big bads of this book were plentiful and innovative in their evil ways. It was interesting seeing what was going to happen next. You never know what to expect with this series. Events from the past do indeed return to haunt them all.

Getting to see Kitty's temper for a large part of the book was entertaining. I liked getting to see once again that she's not a person to mess with. She’s also pretty darn hilarious when she’s furious.

Characters old and new are all well done and they continue to grow. Even if you're just meeting a character I adore how this writer makes you feel like you want to know everything about all of the characters ASAP. Plus you'll find yourself loving them just as much as the main character does.

Humor + Serious Situations + Aliens aplenty + Blasts from the Past = a tremendous read with more than enough momentum to keep dashing forward into the foreseeable future.

I highly recommend this series to everybody and need everyone to read it so they can root for these characters too.
