Tawna has done it again. She’s created another amazing fun loving story with two characters you’d love to meet. (Well I know a few funny geeks) While all her stories have smart men and women this one goes to a whole new level.Meet Ben, he looks like he should be on the silver screen and yet he’s build like an NFL Linebacker, what’s not to love so far. However, here’s the kicker he’s the sweeties guy I think we’ve met from Tawna. This beast of a man is a total geek. He loves bad sci-fi movies and would prefer to stay in his lab.
Let a few “geeks” I know Ben doesn’t want to be in the spot light, yet he is taking over as CEO of the family company. His father, a womanizing ass, wants to change Ben into his image.
Ben, can’t stand his father and the thought of being anything like him turns his stomach.
Holly, is a business minded, smart sexy woman who’s more like the girl next door. She owns her own PR firm and after a chance meeting with Ben she starts working with him to become the best CEO he can be.
The only problem (not really a problem) the chemistry between this two is off the charts from the beginning. And after Holly’s failed marriage she’s a bit gun shy when it comes to Ben. Not to mention he is her client.
As Holly tries to pull away from the connection she feels for Ben, Ben does the opposite. Yet he works her down as only a true “geek” with bad sci-fi movie dates, over the phone Star Wars movie dates, popcorn, and root beer floats all while making flirty sexual innuendo’s that don’t always have to do with sex.
Of course, as with all of Tawna’s stories you will giggle, smile, chuckle and laugh your ass off. She just has a way with words. Find out how she spins Ben and Holly’s story, how they fall in love. And all the flips along the way. This is what happens when you mix business with pleasure.

The premise of this book is good. Ben is a nerdy intellectual who is in the position of taking over as CEO of his father's company. He doesn't respect his father as he treated Ben's mother badly before she died. Ben hires Holly who has her own PR firm to help him learn the fine points of impressing the owners of other companies. She helps him develop his skills so he will feel confident with other CEO's She feels a strong attraction to Ben and this progresses very quickly. I felt the author should have taken more time in developing their relationship. They are likable characters and needed more time to get to know each other before they jumped into bed.
Tawna Fenske definitely brings the heat-and the laughs-with The Fix Up. I love all of her books and this one is no exception. Sexy, funny, and smart characters, situations that are both realistic and hilariously funny, and some serious heat-in the conference room, in the car, in the living room, the dressing room....well, you get the picture. A must read for anyone that loves to read sizzling scenes on one page and then laugh out loud at the next. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!
Loved Ben! Would love to meet him in real life!!! This was such a funny and romantic and steamy book.
The banter between Ben and Holly was so comical and the attraction between them was intense.
Holly saves Ben from an over eager sales woman at a furniture store. Then Ben needs Holly's business services in order to learn how to go from geek to CEO. Holly was wary because he ex-husband was a business man who did not want her to have a career. Holly was afraid that that was the type of person Ben was going to turn into. However, Ben transformed himself into the CEO that is NOT his father.
It was a great book. I love all of Tawna's stories. Romantic comedies are wonderful and lighthearted.
I enjoyed how they met and started out. I did not like the reason for the separation. See Spoiler.
Ben is a super smart geek who needs to learn people skills for his job. He hires Holly to help him. She owns a public relations firm.
I really enjoyed “Making Waves” by this author.

Holly is the head of a firm that makes over corporate brand images. Ben, a new CEO, presents an interesting challenge - he's the one who needs a make-over, not his company. His sweet, geeky, laid-back demeanor lacks the polish, self confidence, and assertiveness he needs to be effective in his new role. He needs to convince his father that he has what it takes, or his CEO career will be short-lived. The story is a good vehicle for what Fenske does best - charming, witty dialog between likable, relatable characters in amusing situations. The result is thoroughly entertaining.
3.5 stars. Ben Langley is stepping into the shoes of CEO of his father's company, but he doesn't want to imitate his father's image entirely. Ben's more comfortable being by himself and working on engineering designs rather than promote himself. But after a brief and memorable encounter with Holly Colvin in a furniture store, he decides that he needs Holly's services to revamp his image because he also wants Holly, too. Ben was lovable and adorable although a definite geek, too. Holly was likable as well, and she knew mixing business with pleasure with Ben would be wrong, but needed the career boost because of her past that she was still trying to recover from. The story was sweet with some hot and steamy moments with fun characters, just a light hearted and cute read overall.
