This was a fun light story that made me smile. A very neat concept regarding the magic of Egyptian sorcery. A very neat tale.
What fun! Sizemore deftly weaves together palace politics, ancient Egyptian religion, and a dog so real that you can feel his cold nose pressed against your hand into a tight, fast-paced tale of love, loyalty, and courage. Ipuit, a young priestess, is pleased to learn that she may become queen to the new pharoah... but soon discovers that all is not well with her husband-to-be. To solve the mystery, she'll need her intelligence, her skill with magic - and the help of a good dog. A very satisfying short story, with well-drawn characters and every detail neatly resolved in the end.
